🌟 Groups App: Privacy Info for Younger Members
Hi there! If you are under 18, this page is for you. It explains how Groups App uses your information when you use our app to look at your clubs, sports teams, or groups.
1. Your Parent is the Boss
Your account is connected to your parent or guardian's account. They are the gatekeeper! They create your account, and they have to approve any groups you want to join.
2. What Information Do We Keep About You?
We like to keep things simple. We only save:
- Your name (so your coach or group leader knows who you are).
- Your birthday (so we can make sure you are in the right age group).
- A link to your parent's account.
Note:We never ask you for your phone number or where you live. You don't need your own email address to use Groups App — but your parent can optionally add one when they create your account, so you can receive copies of group messages. That is entirely their choice, not yours.
3. Who Can See Your Information?
- Your Parent: They can see everything you request to join.
- Your Group Admin: The leader or coach of a group you join can see your name and a little badge that says you are a child member, so they can keep you safe during activities.
- Nobody Else: Your profile is totally private. Strangers cannot search for you or message you.
4. Staying in the Loop
Group emails and notifications (like a message about team practice) always go to your parent first. If your parent added your email when they set up your account, you will get a copy too — but they still receive every message. No secret emails!
5. You are in Control
If you want to change something or delete your account completely, just ask your parent. They can delete your account instantly from their dashboard, which wipes your information off our system.
